Lough Erne Resort Announced as the Venue for the 15th Annual IGTOA National Golf Tourism onference
The IGTOA -Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association are delighted to announce that the “15th Annual IGTOA Networking Event, Golf Classic & 2012 Gala Irish Golf Awards” is to be hosted at the prestigious Lough Erne Resort, Co. Fermanagh from Sat 20th -Mon 22nd October 2012. This annual event is the largest gathering of golf tourism industry professionals on the island of Ireland, it is hosted each year with Title Sponsorship and support from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Fáilte Ireland, Tourism Ireland, the European Tour, IAGTO and various National Corporate Sponsors. The IGTOA are supported by “Official Media Partners" - Golf Digest Ireland & Golfing Magazine.
Our national golf tourism conference is a 3 day event, working with our national and international golf industry colleagues, to showcase the best that Ireland has to offer as a leading golf and tourism product. This annual conference is used as a networking event to stimulate new business for golf tourism in Ireland. It is also a great opportunity for our IGTOA Member Golf Tour Operators and trade to learn about the many exciting developments and changes at our respective golf courses, golf resorts, accommodation providers, transportation companies, visitor attractions and tourism activities.
This conference has a major business focus encouraging and stimulating business via our annual “Networking Event”. The IGTOA facilitate over 4,000 speed dating style appointments with golf and tourism industry trade and the leading golf tour operators that form the Executive Board of the IGTOA. Following this session is an educational “Golf Seminar” which gives the IGTOA an opportunity to offer an engaging panel covering current topical industry subjects.
The pinnacle of the overall event is the 2012 “Gala Irish Golf Awards”, which is a black tie awards ceremony recognising the very best in the Irish golf and tourism industry, which takes place on Monday 22nd October 2012 at Lough Erne Resort. It will be hosted this year by CNN Living Golf Presenter Shane O’Donoghue. This prestigious event recognises the best in the Irish Golf Tourism Industry, with national awards for our 3,4 and 5 Star Hotels, Golf courses, Golf Resorts and Golf Managers. This event will have in attendance representatives from all of Ireland’s parkland and links golf courses, Ireland’s golf hotels, Ireland’s golf media, Ireland’s golf merchandising and Ireland’s golf tourism agencies.
